In Teamcenter 9.1, a new utility has been evolved which determines that LOV values can be updated externally instead of defined values taken from BMIDE.
In earlier versions till Teamcenter 8.3, LOV values are populated according to the LOV values which are provided in data model and deployed.
In Teamcenter 9.1 BMIDE, if you select the LOV: supply values directly to Teamcenter database using "bmide_manage_batch_lovs" command utility. We can update values to that particular LOV without any deployment interference.
bmide_manage_batch_lovs
Manages the values for LOVs marked as externally managed, whose values are stored solely in the Teamcenter database. Use this utility to update and extract the values for externally managed LOVs and generate a report of these LOVs.
When you use this utility to update externally managed LOVs in the database,
submit the LOV values in an XML file and submit the localizations in a separate XML file in a lang subdirectory, as shown in the following example:
